(4-5) Shelter Support Staff Address: 508 Union St- Located in a Church- 1st congressional church Shelter Owned and Operated by CVOEO- just in a church setting for 5 weeks Contract Length: 5 weeks- then new shelter opening where they can work Shifts: 5p-1a and 1a-9a- 2 for each needed Hours: 40 hrs/week

The Residential Aide assists in developing the therapeutic program and treatment plan by helping to create a therapeutic environment.  Through direct service, the Residential Aide collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team in achieving the goals of the residential program and the clients who reside there.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Completes daily administrative functions in a timely manner Meets regularly with and documents resident progress Assist in maintenance of the unit(s) Assists in supervising residents with housekeeping tasks, repairs, ordering of supplies Prepares plans of actions and behavior sheets when necessary Adheres to facility policies and procedures for resident aide services Supervises residents on a daily basis per protocol Ensures adequate levels of supervision are met based on material and physical needs of the resident Available for consultation on group issues, and helps maintain group milieu Attends and schedules progress review meetings Maintains availability for consultation and assistance as needed by the residents Counsels residents in collaboration with residential coordinator(s) Provides behavior management, and reasonable expectations to residents according to facility protocols and individual resident treatment plans Assists in conflict resolution Facilitates each resident gaining insight and understanding of themselves and others through discussion of daily happenings and their progress in coping with the practical experiences and problems of living in the group/functioning in society

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences preferred One year relevant experience in a residential treatment setting highly preferred Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (per state or client requirements) Current valid driver’s license (per state or client requirements) Crisis prevention course certified preferred Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice  Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicable Current CPR if applicable TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable  Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)  Must meet all federal, state and local requirements  Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site  Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements   Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required   Computer proficiency required  Must be at least 18 years of age  Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs  *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.  About Amergis Amergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
