The SHEQ Officer is responsible to ensure Safety Health Environment and Quality Standards are properly developed implemented and managed He/ She will supervise and coordinate work systems to ensure that the products and services of the company meet the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe and favorable work environment
To lead develop and maintain Company SHEQ management programs and systems in written format through recording face to face contact communication and team briefing To support line Management in delivering Site SHEQ objectives on all sites
Key Performance Areas
Evaluate current implemented systems to determine the strategic direction and work priorities in conjunction with line management for the continuous improvement of the SHEQ Management program
Advises line management and assists with the implementation of new or existing SHEQrelated legislation rules and Company standards
Complete prevention inspections on a regular basis and ensure records are maintained
Perform Incident and Accident investigations and ensure documentation is updated
Share and monitor success of monthly SHEQ Communication Strategy for all sites and levels of staff to include written information toolbox talks and management briefs
Assist Line Management with implementation of formal Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodology
Perform internal SHEQ audits on all sites and ensure documented results are properly managed
Assist all Line Managers with preparations for annual SHEQ audits
Work with HR department to initiate and coordinate approved training plan
Advise line management in Warehouse Office and retail stores on Safety Health Environment and Quality matters and manage this process to ensure all advise provided is incorporated into day to day processes and operations
Produce and coordinate the yearly SHEQ action plan and longer term SHEQ roadmap prepare reports for monthly update to Management
Provide training on SHEQ related matters including food safety standards to all employees
Requirements
Formal qualification in Safety Management General Industry Samtrac/ Nebosh NQF level 5 or better
Formal Qualification in Quality Management NQF Level 3 or better
Minimum 3 years experience in a SHEQ Management Role with Line Management Experience
Matric
Must have and in depth understanding of and the ability to interpret SHEQ related legislation Company Standards and program requirements in order to pass knowledge and requirements to others
Must have own reliable transport
Valid Drivers License Code 8
