Projected annual starting compensation is $96,400-$101,200 based on related skills, knowledge, and experience with advancement opportunities up to $142,100 + potential for profit sharing annually.

 

 

Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Shift Electrician is to be part of a team responsible for planning, installation, programming, testing and troubleshooting of electrical machinery and automation systems. The person in this role must diagnose process and equipment problems and take appropriate measures to resolve issues. Applicants must have a thorough understanding of electrical theory, process instrumentation and control systems. The Shift Electrician will assist with general facility functions to maintain the operations of the plant. This position requires work on rotating shifts.  

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read electrical schematics Ability to trouble-shoot electrical systems and equipment Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment Two or more years related industrial maintenance and automation experience in a manufacturing facility OR equivalent electrical training OR equivalent military experience Detailed Selection Criteria: Strong commitment to Safety in all job aspects Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong ability to analyze and think strategically to solve problems Ability to lead and develop continuous improvement projects Mechanical aptitude Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years related industrial maintenance and automation experience in a manufacturing facility OR equivalent electrical training OR equivalent military experience Experience performing routine and corrective maintenance on motors, controllers and process measuring devices or equivalent training PLC and HMI programming experience Hydraulic and pneumatic experience Solid knowledge of electrical principles Practical understanding of drives and motors
