Shift Engineer

We are looking for a Shift Engineer who is responsible for maintenance and repairs to ensure optimum availability of the plant for manufacturing. Ensure faults affecting the plant are repaired in an effective and controlled manner. Assist with project work to enhance plant capability and efficiency. Coaching production staff on Autonomous Maintenance tasks & Efficient operation of line equipment.

This is a permanent full-time position working a 12hr rotating shift, following a 2-2-3 shift pattern (working days and nights). You will be part of our Dan-IWS (Integrated Work Systems) team of 8 shift Engineers at our Auckland production site, reporting to the Line Technical Lead.

 

You Will:

Be leading the day-to-day maintenance operation in the line.  Coordinate with external companies and:

participation in and support of the company’s WISE Health & Safety program.Ensure high level of awareness & understanding of all relevant Health & Safety policies and proceduresMaintain the preventative maintenance program and keep all maintenance and lubrication records up to date for the plant and the buildings.Provide maintenance and shift reports as and when required, account for 70% of daily activity in CMMS.Keep spare parts records up to date when using removing any spare from engineering stores, utilizing CMMS spare parts module.Assure adherence to all food safety and ISO 22000 quality standards & make recommendations with regards to improvements.Escalate issues associated with your role to resolve them in a timely manner.Perform work in a daily basis, creating action plan to work in continues improvement and reduction of losses.Liaise with production Shift Manager (Shift Lead) on questions of day-to-day maintenance or adjustments.Train/Coach production staff in any engineering related activities, for example: can size change, effective equipment setup, autonomous maintenance tasks

 

Mō Koe

You have at least 3 years of Dairy or food manufacturing industry experience in maintenance with demonstration of technical aptitude and leadership capability. Proactive, confident, and process-oriented with a focus in orientation to results, continuous improvement and people management.

To be successful, you will also have:

3 years’ experience in an engineering maintenance role (FMCG preferred) A high level of fault-finding ability and able to work and make decisions without supervision.Relevant Mechanical Trade Qualification Level 4 (or higher) and current NZ Electrical Practising license or Limited Electrical (EST A and B) or:Proven track record of Mechanical and/or Electrical experience in a Manufacturing environment or:Strong knowledge of Pneumatics, TIG weldingPLC and Computer literacy. Excellent fault-finding and communication skillsAbility to work and make decisions without close supervisionKnowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies is favorable. Good communication skills are essential. Verbal and written.Coaching and training skills.Ability to identify issues, analyze and problem-solving skills.  Ability to adjust the schedule to support 24/7 Manufacturing operations, which may include working overtime, afternoon, and night and/or weekends as needed.

 

Salary between $100 to $115 K. (Based on experience)
