Job Summary: 

This position ensures that production runs efficiently, meets safety and quality standards, and supports production operations while maintaining a clean, organized work environment. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provide clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.Vacation coverage for Shift Supervisor.Along with Shift Supervisor, lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, etc.).Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly and in a timely and thorough manner.Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.Motivates and coaches’ employees through excellent communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed. Security diligence, including maintaining control of personal key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry information and equipment within your direct responsibility.Constant vigilance and participation in Safety, Food Safety, and Quality practices.Prevent nonconforming products from being shipped to customers.Identify and record problems relating to product, process, and quality system.

Communication – ability to communicate safety, goals and company expectations with appropriate levels of the organization; create clear, timely audience appropriate messages (both written and verbal). 

Engagement – communicate and support the vision of plant leadership; celebrate the wins, and ensure employees actively participate in safety-related activities.

 PRIMARY DUTIES

Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and Plant policies & rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment.Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Maintain good housekeeping and 6S principles.Check production reports and production paperwork and labels.Interface with maintenance and set-up operators as needed.Coordinate the movement of raw materials from the staging area to the production lines and back to the staging area when not needed on the floor.Train new employees.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and production manager.First Responder training and certification encouraged. Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION REQUIRED:   

Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.Maintain an attendance record within company guidelines and working required overtime.High school diploma or GED equivalency.Read, write, and speak English.Capable of Utilizing Berry’s operating and support systems (JDE, Ignition, WebEFF, etc.).Experience/proven ability within the specified disciplines.Previous manufacturing experience a plusLeadership abilities with good interpersonal skills.
