Overview

Hire Resolve’s client is  seeking a skilled and experienced Shift Millwright to join their team in the steel industry. The Shift Millwright is responsible to provide maintenance support to Production, Electrical/C&I and maintenance teams in the relevant areas.  The Shift Millwright is the first line of defense.  Breakdowns and inspections are performed on a 24-hrs basis to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment including conveyors, pumps, motors, and production machinery Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency Install new equipment and machinery as needed Fabricate and weld metal components as required Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment issues Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe work environment Train and mentor junior millwrights as needed

Requirements:

Matric or equivalent OR N2 with Mathematics and Science Must have a relevant trade test as a Millwright A minimum of 3 years of plant experience as a qualified millwright. Experience in a heavy industry will be beneficial. Must have sound knowledge of planned maintenance principles Knowledge of maintenance & repairs on pumps, hydraulic, pneumatic and grease systems Knowledge of chain drives, drive shafts, fans, gearboxes and conveyor belt systems Knowledge required of maintenance on electrical motors as well as overhead cranes. Suitable candidate must be Computer literate
