What You'll Do:
As a Shift Operator - Utilities, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by monitoring, controlling and conducting activities that pertain to unit operation and taking corrective action when necessary to ensure that all unit conditions and operations are in compliance with safety, environmental, and operating policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For:
Ensuring strict compliance with safety policies and procedures, taking immediate corrective action in the event a potential issue or unsafe behavior is observed. Ensure proper shift turn-over by providing effective written and oral communications to the relieving shift and technician that cover routine and non-routine issues, problems faced, unit operating conditions, etc. Monitoring and accurately recording operating inputs, variables and conditions Maintaining good communications with other team members and with other facility teams (Production Units, Logistics, etc.). Ensuring that operations are within environmental requirements. Performing required preventative maintenance and assists in troubleshooting potential issues and gives assistance to others when unit problems occur. Making sure to document efforts in accordance with policies and procedures. Properly using personal computers for meeting daily performance expectations and accessing plant and unit information and procedures. Actively assuming personal accountability for meeting standards of continuous personal and professional development. Participating in training and respond to emergency situations as required. Actively complying with all operating policies and procedures. Ensuring that workstations and the work location is clean and free of hazards. Process/Wastewater lab testing Other responsibilities as assigned.
Skills That Make a Difference:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Certificate of Process Technology or Associate degree in related field is a plus but not required. Utilities experience (Boiler and/or Wastewater Treatment). Excellent troubleshooting/Root Cause Analysis skills. Willingness to comply with all safety rules and processes. Willingness to support policy of a drug-free work environment. Willingness to work a rotating 12 hour- shift schedule (nights, weekends, holidays and overtime). Must be able to pass a manual dexterity exam; lift a minimum of 50 lbs., climb ladders without fear of heights, bend, pull, push, run up to one mile, etc. Ability to Multitask and Handle Multiple Simultaneous Assignments. Ability to Work as a Team. Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills (Fluent in English). Good mechanical aptitude. High attention to detail. Knowledge of SAP. Knowledge of process, laboratory, and mechanical operations. Proficient in DCS Operations. Previous experience in a leadership position. Experience with safe work permits. Knowledge of regulatory requirements. Previous experience in a Maintenance Craft. Previous emergency response experience. Must pass a battery of operations assessment.
