GENERAL FUNCTION

Responsible for leading the activities of a high-volume manufacturing operation and building a high performing team of production associates. Achieves department’s Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, & People goals through leadership and collaboration.

Work Hours

12 Hour Rotating shift, Typically 4:30 PM-4:30 AM

Hours worked will be in the 4:30 PM - 4:30 AM range.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads the activities of a high-volume manufacturing operation

Takes ownership for the performance and results of the shift and department.

Creates organizational clarity and empowers the team to make good decisions.

Communicates department goals, objectives, and initiatives to the production floor in a simple and concise manner.

Defaults to action. Remains calm and makes decisions in ambiguous and complex situations.

Exercises modesty and servant leadership.

Solves problems and coaches the team to solve problems.

Ensures a safe working environment, implements safety policies. Processes accident reports.

Ensures manufactured products meet the established quality requirements. Works with the Quality team to implement new or revised quality plans.

Works effectively up and down the management chain to accomplish goals

Strategically uses the team’s abilities to achieve operational success.

Exhibits a Continuous Improvement (CI) attitude. Drives to consistently improve self and team.

Builds a successful team

Manages team personnel. This includes hiring, promoting, rewarding, terminating associates, and setting/managing overtime for the department.

Builds technical competence by ensuring team members are trained to perform their jobs and can progress in the future.

Manages training within the department to ensure team members understand and follow Standard Work and Good Manufacturing Practices. Updates and monitors team member learning plans in C2C.

Performs regular, timely, and accurate assessments of team members. Provide coaching and candid feedback to the team.

Ensures fair and reasonable application of company and departmental policies and practices, such as vacation, sick, attendance and FMLA.

Align with: all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures includes RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations; and all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

Supervises "D" shift with roughly 20-25 associates.

production associates responsible for running the line,

maintenance associates responsible for mechanical maintenance,

quality associates responsible for in-process sampling,

area leaders responsible for general line support.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED

Minimum 5 years in a medical device, or molding field is preferred.
