Job Summary
The Shift Sanitor is responsible to inspect, train and follow the American Dairy Association and the United States Department of Agriculture guidelines, the American Institute of Baking regulations, the Food and Drug Administration regulations and company policies. Responsible for sanitizing assigned equipment according to FDA and USDA regulations, quality specifications and company policies.
This is on 12 hour days. (6 am- 6 pm on a 2-2-3 schedule)
Job Functions
Follow the 7 wet and dry steps of sanitation in a safe mannerFollow Sanitation Gantt chart
Inspect sanitation tools and equipment prior to use
Ensure that all cleaning practices being followed and are within the established guidelines
Apply industrial foam cleaners and sanitizers in a safe manner
Recommend work orders as needed
Follow proper GMP and safety guidelines
Coordinate cleaning schedule with production personnel
Ensure use of proper utensils and cleaning equipment
Document and maintain supply inventories
Transport/store equipment according to SOP
Maintain Parts Per Million testing log, Critical Control Point checklist, and daily schedule
Use pH, chlorine and Quaternary Ammonia test strips and interpret indicators
Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure food safety and safe operations
Document cleans on MSS sheet (Master Sanitation Schedule) and provide to Lead for data entry
Communicate mechanical problems to maintenance
Other Job Duties:
Identifying and supporting continuous improvement opportunitiesFollow standard work and recommend changes
Coach and train new Shift Sanitors
Maintain work area in a safe and clean environment at all times
Coordinate work duties with Sanitation Lead when there is down time
All other duties as assigned by Sanitation Lead or supervision
Trained in key assets (Fryer, Freezer, APS, and Nex-GEM)
Back up Lead
Working Conditions
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, food fumes, airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and loud noise levels.
Job Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to comprehend and communicate in basic English and interact with all levels of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions with minimal guidance, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Strong ability to work independently and/or with others.
Skill and Knowledge
Trained in sanitation and chemical safety practices
Minimum of 3 months’ experience working in a sanitation capacity
Forklift, High Lift, and Articulated (Boom) Lift certified.

Compensation Package: $27.89 USD hourly + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
