Demonstrate a commitment to quality, and train and hold production workers accountable for meeting all established standards. Develops effective teamwork and utilizes innovation to achieve production goals and other assigned duties. Effective communication with other production shifts and the maintenance department ensures the continuity of production. Active participation in and support of WCM initiatives.
Plant Leadership:
Monitor the production processes and product quality. Direct efforts to adjust to the process or equipment to maintain quality and production. Report shift performance results in accordance with prescribed standards, using assigned tools. Train, schedule, and assign production personnel to work activities. Lead and support World Class Manufacturing activities as directed. Effectively communicate with maintenance, other production shifts, quality control personnel, warehouse personnel, and plant management. Addresses malfunctioning equipment through WCM methods established scheduling priorities, product changes, product quality, and the resolution of personnel problems. Accountable for maintaining a safe work environment and the safety management of assigned employees. Must recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss. Required to complete safety audits/inspections (SMATs); thorough investigations of incidents and accidents (IARs), job safety analysis, and periodic safety meetings Responsible for the implementation of 5S standards, specifically within the Department Maintain workplace organization and ensure good housekeeping practice by holding employees accountable for their assigned work areas Verify work schedules, and overtime schedules, and inform employees of any scheduling changes Complete other tasks and projects as assignedPeople Development: Supporting the requirements of company policies and guidelines. Fosters positive relationships to promote a positive working environment and employee engagement.
Safety- Supports safety and health programs; coordinates training as required by regulatory agencies such as worker’s compensation, OSHA, MSHA, and various state agencies; monitors and assists departments with reporting and all on-site inspections by regulatory agencies.
Frontline Supervisory Additional key responsibilities:
Support front-line responsibilities of the assigned production shift. During weekends and night shifts, oversees the entire plant/ facility and is responsible to immediately communicating with management any abnormal events or circumstances Respond to after-hours emergencies, as deemed necessary by management.
