Ensuring that quality services are provided effectively and in accordance with guidelines established by CHI, OTDA, and other funding sources as appropriate. Pay: $24.04 an hour- approx. $50,004 annually. FLSA: Non-exempt. Eligible for overtime. Schedule: Thursday - Monday 4pm-12am (Off Tuesday & Wednesdays) Location: Gowanus/Park Slope Brooklyn, NY JOB-RELATED DUTIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS These duties are essential and specific to the successful implementation of this position. Under the direction of the Program Director, the Shift Supervisor will work as part of an interdisciplinary team. The Shift Supervisor will supervise the overall running of the site as directed by the Program Director. + Responsible for the supervision and support for all Residential Aide staff. + Responsible for overseeing Residential Aide staffing for weekends, overnights and as needed. + Conduct Fire Drills as scheduled and works with program staff to ensure that fire safety procedures are followed and document these events as per DHS and CHI guidelines. + Supervise and assist with the client meals as per the site’s specific policies. Shift Supervisors are responsible for ensuring employees are following OTDA and DHS food safety guidelines. + Provides limited crisis intervention and de-escalation to residents, when necessary, until CHI professional staff Case Managers, Program Managers or Director of Emergency Housing can be contacted and/or intervene. Contacts supervisor and/or the proper authorities as needed. + Prevents loss of income to CHI because of vacancy loss, and lost shelter payments, property, etc. + Ensure that the program is providing quality services and is compliant with program requirements. + Enforces clients on CHI, site and DSS policies, regulations, and rules with residents. + Reviews video cameras and monitors area consistently. + Adheres to proper use of company resources (cell phones, office supplies, internet, etc.). + Always maintains appropriateness and acts as a model for other employees. + Provides on-site training and feedback on a regular basis and when necessary to staff and management. + Informs Building Superintendent of work site’s physical condition (i.e., dangerous conditions, possible repair needs, supply needs, etc.). + Act as a liaison with agencies responsible for referring eligible clients. + Submits all internal and external reports in a timely and accurate manner as required by funding agencies and/or CHI (logs, notes, incident reports). Maintains logs, office, and site in an orderly fashion. + Assists the management team in communication as well as being an on-call supervisor. Qualifications What do I need to apply? Education and Experience:High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s from an accredited university or related field of study, preferred. 3+ years of verified experience working in homeless services can override the education requirement. All applicants must have 2+ years’ experience providing management services in social services or in other related fields. + Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required. Multi-lingual and Spanish proficiency preferred. + First Aid/CPR Certification and Food Handler’s Certificate (have upon hire or within 60 days of hire) + F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification, required (or ability to obtain F80 certification within 30 days of hire) + Computer Skills: Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, and on the Internet. + Physical Performance: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), tour property, walk distances, and climb stairs (up to 3-4 flights). + Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls. + Other Skills: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details. Must be even-tempered, have good negotiation skills, and the ability to meet unexpected deadlines. Effective time management skills.
