Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee the operations of a fabrication plant. This role involves managing parts making equipment, coordinating assembly, welding, and coatings operations for small fabrication pieces, and balancing the needs of various departments within the plant.
ResponsibilitiesSupervise the entire structural steel fabrication plant.Manage parts making equipment and supply parts to other departments.Oversee assembly, welding, and coatings operations for small fabrication pieces.Handle competing priorities and multiple lots of work on multiple pieces of equipment/stages of fabrication.Utilize strong communication skills in daily activities.Teach and train employees through one-on-one and group training sessions.Lead, motivate, and inspire employees to work within a team environment.Implement machine uptime strategies, standard operating procedures, and operator preventative maintenance procedures.Manage assembly operations and job-shop scheduling.Interpret data to draw conclusions even when all information is not available.Respond quickly and cultivate a fast-paced, change-oriented workplace.Delegate tasks, accept differing opinions, and balance task-orientation with concern for people.Focus on quality issues and errors, taking the lead in eliminating root causes for in-shop errors.Set up training programs to cross-train and re-train employees.Plan daily departmental activities based on labor estimates.Conduct weekly crew meetings focusing on safety, production planning, quality, and company policies and culture.Participate in weekly meetings with the Plant Manager and other supervisors.Communicate daily with other supervisors.Assign daily tasks with clear expectations and follow up on those assignments.Re-deploy manpower based on the production plan.Essential SkillsSupervision and supervisory skills.Experience in plant operations and production management.Strong communication and leadership skills.Knowledge of computers and software, including Microsoft Office applications.Experience with machine uptime strategies, standard operating procedures, and operator preventative maintenance procedures.Familiarity with assembly operations and job-shop scheduling.Ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in structural steel fabrication (preferred).Ability to lead and inspire a team.Experience in teaching and training employees.Strong problem-solving skills.Energetic and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This position involves working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 AM to 6 PM. You will work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours. The role requires working on the plant floor (both inside and outside) as well as in an office setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Greenville, South Carolina.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $66560.00/yr.
