About The Position
The Shift Supervisor II supervises, directs and coordinates the mechanical and electrical operations of power plant equipment to ensure continuous, safe, efficient and economical operation.
Key responsibilities include:
● Planning, coordinating and implementation of all aspects of special projects for the Operations Department
● Supervise and appraise plant personnel to include Shift Supervisors, Chief Operating Engineers, Unit Operating Engineers, Production Operating Engineers, Master Control Technicians, Chem Testers, and Coal Equipment Operating Engineers
● Coordinate plant training department personnel
● Coordinate Unit Operating Engineers and Production Operating Engineers training programs
● Responsible for operating procedures
● Coordinate WPA requirements and standards for the Operations and Maintenance Departments
● Work with Planning and Scheduling, and Engineering, to ensure that the operational needs of the plant are met
● Provide coordination for special projects, as assigned, including Major Outages, Forced Outages, Operational improvements such as heat rate and boiler tuning, and Engineering Projects
● Provide long range planning for the Operations Department to improve personnel safety, unit availability, generation, and start up new systems
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (engineering, computer science, etc.) preferred. 5yrs power plant experience or directly relevant experience required with Bachelor’s degree required, or 10yrs power plant experience or directly relevant experience required without a degree. Periodic Overtime, Night, and Weekend availability is required. Working knowledge of the applicable Energy Center Unit Operating equipment and procedures is preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Good decision-making, oral and written communication, planning and leadership skills required

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
**Compensation Range:**
$108,400.00 - $168,000.00
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
