Job Summary

The Shift Technician will be assigned to operating shifts and work the same rotating shift schedule as Operations Department employees, which is currently a 12-hour shift rotation. The rate of pay for the Shift Technician B is $42.70 - 50.78 per hour.

The Shift Technician is a multi-disciplinary classification, able to perform operations duties and maintenance duties including but not limited to electrical, control and instrument, mechanical, welding and use of machine tools. Shift Technicians must be capable of and are expected to plan, schedule and perform all aspects of their job while working independently.

Overtime – available for overtime assignmentsAbility to work from heights as required (ladder, scaffolding, skyclimber, etc.)Ability to work in confined spaces as requiredAbility to push, pull, or lift minimum of 50 poundsWalking, standing, bending, and climbing as requiredWork environment (hot, cold, dusty, noisy, inside building, and outdoor)Must be medically qualified to use a respirator at all timesSuccessful completion of Machinist Aptitude TestMust be clean shaven(face) compliant to OSHA respirator fit standardsMust be able to successfully pass a POSS/MASS aptitude assessmentHigh School diploma or equivalent is required

Required:  Industrial Trade School Certificate-machinist and/or graduate of Military Training School (Form DD-214 required).

Preferred: Associate in Applied Science - Machinist
