Location Description Hawks Cay Resort, an iconic destination resort in the Florida Keys, reopened in August 2018 following a $50 million renovation. A recipient of the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award and a member of the Preferred Hotel Group Lifestyle Collection, this 60-acre, tropical destination boasts 177 guestrooms and 250 two • and three-bedroom villas, a full-service marina, six restaurants, saltwater lagoon, five swimming pools, kid and teen clubs and spa. Overview Responsibilities 1. Responsible for all Ship’s Store purchases, displays, inventory controls, and marketing, sales promotion coordination, budget management, cash control, staff training. 2. Keep store well stocked with holiday, seasonal and special order items. Track sales trends and needs. 3. Track competitive pricing of marine goods in order to compete with catalogue buying (maintain and promote a special order (catalogue sale) discount system. 4. Maintain card method inventory control system. a. Prepare timely stock orders. b. Conduct monthly and annual inventories. 5. Stock Management a. Verify all incoming shipments with order and packing list. b. Price and enter into inventory with stock numbers. c. Rotate stock under first in, first out system. d. Maintain attractive and effective merchandising with special attention to seasonality. e. Stock vending machines, including supplies for coffee machine. f. Maintain stock of bathroom and cleaning supplies. g. Keep displays and counters clean and orderly - dust daily. h. Keep coolers clean (inside and out), stocked and orderly. 6. Open and close the store each day. 7. Open and close out business day. a. Balance cash bank, drawer and sales tickets. b. Prepare daily cash deposits and report. 8. Coordination of general housekeeping in store, storage and vending areas. 9. VHF base station radio operations. 10. Coordinate transient needs. (May be done by Marina’s Concierge) a. Arrange transportation rental when possible. b. See that interested parties are put in contact with sales Office. 11. Know legal procedures for handling shoplifters and alcoholic beverage sales. 12. Knowledge of Marina rates, regulations and contract provisions. 13. Knowledge of “Implied Warrantee of Merchantability” laws. 14. Any other duties as assigned by the Marina Management. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 1. Extensive knowledge of marine merchandise - including repair and maintenance products, boating parts and accessories, charts, gifts and clothing. 2. Knowledge of US Coast Guard requirements of approved safety equipment, basic convenience foods, beverages, and salt/fresh water baits. 3. Demonstrated ability to buy, sell and promote merchandise sales. 4. Pleasant personality and ability to get along with customers and manage sales staf
