**Job Title: Shipfitter**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Shipfitter to lay out and fabricate aluminum parts such as plates, bulkheads, and frames. The position involves positioning these parts within the hull of a ship for riveting or welding. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of blueprints and templates, as well as experience using hand tools and shop machinery.
**Responsibilities**
+ Lay out the position of parts on aluminum using blueprints or templates and hand tools.
+ Mark locations of holes to be drilled and install temporary fasteners to hold parts in place for welding or riveting.
+ Roll, bend, flange, cut, and shape plates, beams, and other heavy metal parts using shop machinery such as plate rolls, presses, and bending brakes.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with Finish Carpentry (3-5 years).
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints and templates.
+ Skilled in using hand tools and shop machinery.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in carpentry and finishing.

**Work Environment**
Work will be conducted at the ACU 5, LCAC Shipyard. The environment includes working with heavy machinery and requires adherence to safety protocols.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of National City, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00
