Intertek's Electrical team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification for a variety of electric products, including appliances, consumer electronics, lighting, medical devices, information communications technology, HVACR, industrial, and energy transmission and distribution. What are we looking for?

This Shipper/Receiver position is responsible performing various shipping/receiving functions for an assigned facility.  This position works under general supervision.

What you’ll do:

Listed examples are illustrative and representative of the tasks required of this position and are not intended to be complete or exclusive.

Prepare outgoing shipments and receive incoming shipments. Identify and prepare samples/parts for return to the customer or disposal.  Troubleshoot and resolve shipping errors and delays. Process applicable documentation, including database updates, sample disposal records, invoices, etc. Pull samples/parts from inventory, as requested, for projects/testing. Maintain samples/parts and supplies inventory, as well as audit and inspection records. Maintain safety and maintenance schedules and records for shop tools and equipment. Design, build & package crates to return to the customer as needed. May transport vehicle and/or part pickups to and from various locations. Unpacks, identifies, logs and marks client’s samples and packages using standard procedures  After test completion, performs disposition tasks according to customer requirements, which may include shipping back or disposal of samples and the completion of associated paperwork Keeps an updated shipping log  Performs clerical duties in accordance with standard procedures Perform other duties as required

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED 1+ year directly related experience. Ability to operate a forklift ad pallet jack. Ability to design, build and customize package crates, using basic hand tools and equipment. Must be organized and able to prioritize and complete tasks in an efficient manner. Strong communication skills, in both verbal and written formats Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines Ability to lift and carry samples, parts and equipment up to 49 pounds. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push and pull as needs to perform the essential job duties. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Must possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record for transport of items between facilities.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

Prior shipping/receiving experience Ability to operate a powered hand truck and fork truck (but will train on-site) Certified hazardous material Knowledge of UPS, RED-FED EX, DHL, etc. shipping systems Knowledge of international shipping and receiving Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Education in Supply Chain Management and Logistics
