Essential Duties

Organizing, Prioritizing and Communication, Ownership skills are critical.Some drivers are not bilingual; ability to communicate effectively with diverse contacts.Ability to adapt to a daily schedule. Shipper/Receiver must be willing and able to work through lunch and break times when drivers are ready to load. Breaks will be shifted to slower times during the day.Must be able to lead and delegate tasks by having positive working relationships. This includes being aware of every employee’s current workload, shifting duties to the right person at the appropriate time and adjusting throughout the day as needed to meet timelines.Shipper/Receiver must have the ability to plan ahead and prioritize LTL’s and small packages so they are ready to go when each driver arrives.On deliveries, he/she will assist to collect BOLs, packing slips and/or invoices for every shipment received. Shipper/Receiver will verify quantities, and continue to teach other crew members to count and verify receivables as well. Correct data will be entered into PeopleSoft, Maximo and/or other applicable systems.Shipper/Receiver is responsible for answering and delegating all radio transmissions for receiving. This includes facilitating incoming trucks, shipments, and directing them to which door to go.Shipper/Receiver assists in coordinating all outbound trucks, orders, load types and correct door based on order number and load type. All orders are categorized based on product mix and delegated to location along with a Warehouse Associate to load.Shipper/Receiver is responsible to determine in advance when a load will be varied due to instructions on flexible vary items. He/she will follow through to complete the documentation process, to ensure WMS quantities are correct and match customer billing.Maintain email communication throughout the day to stay immediately aware of emergencies, order changes, new LTL’s, and other Customer Care needs and demands.All paperwork is confirmed and signed by the Shipper/Receiver and is the last stop for any order errors that may occur. He/she must be willing and able to handle this responsibility.Ensure truck drivers understand correct tarping, strapping, edge protectors and all loading procedures. Shipper/Receiver will confirm appointment time with driver and collect executed Job Site Form, if applicable, along with Bills of Lading documents.Throughout the day, will keep CarrierPoint updated, tracking inbounds and outbounds, including tracking pallets shipped and received.Facilitate communication with customer service daily on orders and problem solvingWork closely with Shipping Supervisor and provide back-up cover when necessaryPrepare daily work assignments by reviewing and printing pick slips, transfer tickets, etc.Double-check picking of order per established proceduresProcess paperwork for shipments, including BOL, packing slip and depletionFollow and document Hazardous Materials Transportation Guidelines for all shipmentsPost receipts for deliveries, including PeopleSoft and MaximoDispatch orders for TRUCKS, LTL’s, SM PKG, and CONTAINER shipmentsProcess system for LTL’s and SM PKG through associated carrier systemsProcess export documents against shipping guidelinesProcess RMA paperwork and dispatch Carrier for pickupCycle count as instructed: raw materials and finished goodsProcess RMA paperwork and dispatch Carrier for pickupAssure all activities are performed safelyRelieve Warehouse Associates as needed for breaks and lunchesCoordinate projects with Shipping Supervisor to ensure the overall productivity of the crewObserve what needs to be done and perform and/or facilitate this workTrain new warehouse employees; continue to teach, train and develop existing employees as needed


Qualifications Required

H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) High school diploma required RequiredMinimum 3 years’ experience in a fast paced, logistics manufacturing environmentExperience supporting logistics, customer care and business goalsAbility to provide positive leadership and motivation for his/her crewAbility to troubleshoot and solve logistics, carrier and customer challengesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, other)Familiar with standard warehouse concepts, practices and proceduresProven ability to teach and train other employees on processes and procedures
