Shipping and Purchase Order Clerk - VOLPES_ Gqeberha (12-month Fixed Term contract)

Key Responsibilities:

Provides administrative and clerical support to the Shipping Administrator. Book, track and follow through on all import shipments. Establish and maintain record-keeping and reporting systems for the Purchasing and Shipping departments. Best practice stock receipting for all imported goods, as well as locally sourced goods. Track and schedule deliveries for imported goods (containers) Maintaining purchase order details as well as product details – all product SKU codes, descriptions, RSP, product information, etc Communicate and build relationships with suppliers to ensure the best pricing within the best time frame. Act and implement changes immediately – this is due to changes in delivery dates, stock availability, and shipping timelines - but is not limited to these factors, etc. Take ownership and responsibility for tasks and activities and demonstrate follow-through with agreed deadlines.

 

Requirements: 

Good understanding of Vessel tracking tools – software, online resources, etc Good experience and extensive knowledge of shipping practices and incoterms Extensive attention to detail and ability to practice clear judgment and decision-making. Good understanding of purchase order loading, tracking, checking and receipting of stock. Strong organizational, communication, administrative and self-management skills Proactive and self-starter mentality and work ethic Accept, process and actively implement feedback and changes in a constructive manner Manage own disruptive emotions (handle stress in ways that do not negatively impact others) Sound knowledge and skill of Microsoft Office, Outlook Knowledge and skills of Business Central are advantageous.

 

Preference will be given but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
