Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Description

This position involves working on the first shift of the materials team in a company that specializes in rollforming, stamping, and weld assemblies for structural parts. The role includes assisting with shipping and receiving or stocking the line.

ResponsibilitiesOversee, coordinate, and control the handling, storage, and flow of materials (finished and unfinished goods) to and from the warehouse, ensuring adequate inventory levels for manufacturing and on-time delivery of finished goods to customers.Operate a forklift truck daily to load/unload deliveries from various plants/suppliers, ensuring proper storage and inspecting for any damaged goods.Maintain accurate inventory by inputting all incoming and outgoing freight into the computer database, which serves as a tracking tool for inventory control.Pull orders accurately to prepare for prompt shipments, prepare necessary paperwork, and verify and enter receipts of incoming shipments.Review MRP for raw materials, delivery requirements, and track to ensure on-time delivery within the limits of responsibility.Properly label materials to facilitate identification of items upon retrieval.Complete and perform other duties/tasks as may be assigned.Periodically clean the warehouse as needed.Essential Skills6 months of recent manufacturing experience.Experience in a Shipping & Receiving, Forklift, or Material Handler position within the last 6 months.Ability to operate a sit-down hilo with at least one year of experience.Experience with inventory systems (SAP, Plex, ERP, etc.).Longevity at each job with 8 months or longer at the past three jobs.Ability to lift 40 lbs comfortably, with the need to lift a 40-pound skid 3-5 times throughout the shift.Additional Skills & QualificationsForklift operationInventory managementMaterial handlingOrder pullingLoading and unloadingSit-down forklift operationShipping and receivingWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

This role is based in a stamping/rollforming facility with a dirtier environment. The facility employs 164 people. The second shift runs from 3PM to 11:30PM, Monday to Friday. If scheduled on Saturdays, it is mandatory. Candidates must be comfortable with going outside to grab stock or stack bins.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roseville, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
