The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is to efficiently receive, store, rotate and ship products into and out of the Plant. Supplies must be moved throughout the production process and effective recordkeeping must take place using the ERP system. All raw materials must conform to the plant’s HACCP and GMP plans which meets the USDA & FDA’s requirements. The dock area, freezers, outside dock trash area, and dry storage must be kept in a clean and orderly manner along with maintaining the material handling equipment. All work must be performed in a safe and quality-oriented manner satisfying all White Castle System, Inc. programs, policies, and procedures, in addition to the USDA & FDA standards. Shipping & Receiving Clerks are expected to uphold and demonstrate the Company’s Core Values. This position description does not contain a comprehensive list of required duties and responsibilities. Shipping & Receiving Clerks must follow the direction and guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Production Supervisor, and the Plant Manager.
What we are looking forHigh School diploma or GED is required;Possess good employee relation skills, as well as good verbal communication skills, teamwork, ability to follow instructions given by Warehouse or Production Supervisor and Quality Assurance Department;Ability to stay focused and accomplish multiple tasks independently with little supervision and within established timeframes;Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn & operate the WMS/ERP scanners for product inventory control;Must have good basic math skills, be able to write legibly and communicate with outside companies by telephone and in person; Aptitude to complete training and become certified to operate the forklift and motorized pallet jack upon completion of the Powered Material Handling Equipment Training and Certification Program;Proficient knowledge of safe lifting procedures, be able to strictly follow safety and quality programs;Ability to learn, apply and train others on equipment and workplace health & safety procedures; Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment;Ability to successfully complete on-the-job training; andMust be flexible to work hours to meet the needs of the plant, including any shift, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What you will doSchedule, receive, inspect, record, and rotate raw materials; Store and ship finished patties and logs; Monitor the incoming orders and arrange them in the correct order for the specific department and inform the labeler of said department;Prepare shipping product by working in the WMS system and ready the load, ship it and print the BOL;Receive packaging materials, chemical supplies, and miscellaneous packages;Record incoming dry goods into the WMS system at receipt and as the product is used it will be scanned to match the physical inventory;Supply the production area with necessary supplies; Maintain the shipping/receiving area, dry storage, freezers, outside dock & trash area and shipping/receiving office & bathroom in a clean and orderly manner; Operate the motorized floor scrubber to clean various areas of the shipping & receiving areas; Scan product and materials in the ERP tracking system; Ensure all processing in the WMS/ERP system are completed to update inventory;Operate, clean, and maintain the powered material handling equipment including forklifts in a safe manager; Properly fill out and maintain necessary forms and accurately submit various reports & checklists; Work in a safe and efficient manner satisfying all Sanitation, Quality Assurance, White Castle, and USDA standards;Comply with incident reporting policies and procedures;Adhere to Plant’s security and safety policies and procedures; andCommunicate effectively with customers and all levels of the organization in a professional manner, display a positive demeanor and be responsive to the teams’ needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to frequently work in a cold freezer environment with frequent exposure to noise;Ability to wear safety gear including splash proof goggles, steel toe boots, other various types of safety gear and wet suit supplied by the company;Prolong ability to walk, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time;Capability of frequent bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, pulling, and pushing;Frequent lifting of 60 to 70 lb. boxes of meat (unassisted/assisted), and 30 to 80 lb. pallets is required with assistance; Climbing on and off the forklift frequently; andAbility to hear, comprehend, and professionally respond to co-worker inquiries, comments, and concerns.Can you say #dreamjob!?!
