Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Description

As a Shipper and Receiver, you will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring the safe and secure packing and labeling of merchandise, and assisting with the training of new employees. Your role will be split equally between paperwork/computer tasks and operating machinery.

ResponsibilitiesKeeping an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse.Identifying any missing, lost, or damaged materials and immediately notifying the supervisor.Ensuring that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.Managing all merchandise with appropriate care.Assisting with the training of newly employed workers.Scanning labels to ensure products are shipped to the right destination.Handling inbound and outbound shipments.Essential SkillsProficiency in ERP Systems, Outlook, and Excel.Experience with operating a sit-down, electric forklift.Skills in stock management, labeling, picking, and packing.Experience with inventory management, shipping and receiving, and material handling.Ability to use an RF scanner.Order picking, receiving, and loading experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Capability to remain stationary for 50% of the workday and perform physical activities such as ascending/descending stairs, kneeling, and squatting.Must have a valid Driver’s License.Comfortable working in environments that may contain dirt and dust.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The warehouse is non-climate controlled but maintains a comfortable environment. The warehouse is small, well-organized, and provides a conducive work atmosphere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.
