Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Pay: $22 - $24 / HR

Location: Portland, OR

Job Description: 

Pick orders and prepare them for shipping.Receive and stock storage containers for production.Replenish production operators with materials.Weigh and count inventory.Use computers to track inventory and ship products.Assist with loading trucks.Operate forklifts to handle materials.PPE required for various job duties may include wearing gloves, safety shoes, and safety glasses.This is a weekend night shift, and while there are people working on weekend night shifts in production, there will be nobody else in the warehouse during this shift, so you must be comfortable working independently.

Essential Skills:

Forklift experience is required.Experience working in safety-sensitive environments preferred.Must be comfortable working around chemicals in a safety-sensitive environment.Must be able to wear all required PPE, which may include safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, and bunny suit (bunny suit only required in production, not in the warehouse).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Experience with material handling, shipping, and receiving.Experience with inventory management, pallet jacks, order picking, unloading, loading, and distribution centers.

Work Environment:

Very clean, organized, and quiet manufacturing facility.The company distributes chemicals such as acids used in the semiconductor industry. They fill and sell 55-gallon drums and 275-gallon totes of various acids, ammonia hydroxide, and reagents in a process called down packing, where smaller containers of chemicals are filled from large storage tanks onsite.The chemicals are stored onsite and routed to containers through automated, complex piping systems and conveyor systems. The process is very safe with no chemical contact, but full PPE is always required for safety. PPE may include a bunny suit, gloves, safety glasses, and a respirator. The bunny suit is only required in production (not material handling) and worn to maintain the purity of the chemicals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon.
