General Description:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for completing assigned duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk does this by performing receiving and shipping administrative processes and procedures. This will include ensuring the accuracy of documents, order fulfillment, and timely shipments to achieve overall OTIF Goals. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk uses our foundation for Safety, Service, and Sanitation in meeting our strategic plans for Distribution and Logistics.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure OTIF goals by actively engaging in order fulfillment, document preparation, and shipping/receiving processes/procedures. Maintain effective relationships with the account representatives, Inventory, CLM's, Transpo1tation, OTR Drivers, RPA, Quality, Brokers, and site leadership. Coordinate the release of product from the production facilities. Assist with the voids, pushes, order adjustments, and added. Promote and provide excellent customer service with all customers internal and external. Work with distribution center operations to ensure achievement. Monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement. Ensure documentation daily for accuracy, and completion. Promote a safe and harmonious work environment and adherence to company policy. Ensure compliance with Q.F., HACCP, GWP, and FSMA regulations. Ensure all visitors, vendors, and drivers are signing in and out and complying with all safety/health requirements. Assist Warehouse Leadership with the development and maintenance of warehouse procedures. Communicate and document with the appropriate supervisors to report errors/mistakes. Furnish training or coaching aids when necessary. Maintain load schedule, and update data to spreadsheets or other documents. Ensure all paperwork is filled out properly for the (coversheets & driver sheets) Ensure all drivers are filling out shipping BOLs fully and properly. Assign doors to drivers to be loaded, ensure priority is used, and monitor Communicate on pre-loads and needs for drop trailers. Ability to use Oracle basic functions, customer Pottals, WMS use in ASN. Covers and/or ensures breaks, lunches, and other staffing needs of the Administration Group. Compliant with all legal and safety requirements concerning Supply Chain Administration and reports concerns to their Supervisor or Manager. Works safely and reports safety concerns promptly to their Supervisor or Manager and takes corrective actions timely to ensure a safe environment. Ensures work areas are sanitary, strictly adheres to sanitation practices, and supports health/wellness controls and programs. Communicates effectively between shifts, departments, and other sites as needed. All other duties as assigned by leadership.Essential Knowledge, and Skills:
Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and knowledge of weights and measures, to handle job tasks sufficiently. Understand and respond appropriately to basic to complex, employee, vendor, and customer inquiries. Read, write, and communicate using the English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need). Knowledge of the company's mission, purpose, goals, and your role in achieving each of them. Ability to operate facility equipment as required in assigned area. Satisfactorily complete all company training requirements. Ability to interpret company documents and literature and UPC/code information.Education/Experience:
A GED or High School Diploma is highly preferred. At least 1 year's distribution/admin office experience or equivalent.Performance Standards:
Responsible for reporting to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences with the assigned Supervisor/Manager before the occurrence. Responsible for reporting to work in a condition to work. Responsible for being well-groomed and dressed in business- and position-appropriate attire at all times including ensuring compliance with GMP dress code standards. Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct in company policy, employment procedures, and responsibilities described in the company handbook. Maintain a safe work environment at all times and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct a safety concern. Responsible for completing all assigned tasks and responsibilities as assigned.Work Schedule:
Requires morning, afternoon, and overnight availability any day of the week based on the assigned shift. Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day require advance notification and approval by the Supervisor/Manager. Hourly: Generally scheduled for 40 hours; more hours may be required based on the needs of the business.Environmental Concerns:
Normally protected from weather and temperature changes possible exposure to hot cold wet, humid, or windy weather conditions does exist. May be subject to exposure to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products including allergens. It may be subject to exposure to chemicals involved in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility.Physical Job Requirements:
Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility including but not limited to office, production, and warehouse environments. Including the outside perimeter of the building. Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions. Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with a meal break. Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations. Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.Location:
Syracuse, NY.The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Byrne, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $20.50 to $25.75.
