Are you ready to make your mark? Shipping/Receiving Specialist – Second shift, is responsible for incoming materials from internal and external suppliers, and packaging materials for internal and external customers, assisting freight carriers and coordinating part transport to internal and external customers, and shipping domestic and international packages via the appropriate shipping portals. The role works under limited supervision and some contact with external suppliers and customers. The role involves serving as Woodward representative while coordinating government source inspections and coordinating shipping schedules.
**This is a Second Shift role: Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm.
**This role receives at 10% shift differential.
What you will be doing
Assemble wooden and cardboard containers to prepare for product packing, line and pad crates/boxes as required. Perform specialized packaging and follow specialized shipment instructions based on customer requests.
Generate, prepare, and attach identification and shipping labels to finished packaged items, or cut stencils and stencil information on containers, such as lot numbers or shipping destinations. May assist freight carriers as necessary to expedite shipments.
Check materials to ensure that they match purchase orders and notify appropriate members when problems are found.
Count or estimate quantities of materials, parts, or products received or shipped.
Transport parts or items from one area of the facility to another using carts, wheels, cranes, forklifts or other motorized vehicles, etc.
Unload, unpack and receive incoming shipments of products of MRO (Maintenance Repair and Operating) items.
What We Are Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required.
No related work experience is required.
Shipping Equipment: Knowledge of shipping equipment use (e.g., foam in place machine, bubble wrap machine), necessary raw materials, and the ability to effectively and safely use the equipment.
Knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of basic hand tools (e.g., wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, scrappers, box cutters).
The ability to accomplish a task with concern for all the areas involved, including the ability to notice minute inconsistencies/faults in parts, equipment, or production processes to prevent faulty products leaving the facility.
The ability to use computer and web-based systems to input, access, modify, or output information or to execute programs or analyses with a willingness to learn new applications (e.g., PC-based tools, Microsoft applications, web-based applications).
Follow Hazardous Waste and HAZMAT Procedures: Knowledge of proper handling, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste within area of responsibility. This includes knowledge of standard operating procedures for handling hazardous materials and of safety equipment/gear use and MSDS.
Valid driver's license is required.
Level 2:
Knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of basic hand tools (e.g., wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, scrappers, box cutters).
The ability to accomplish a task with concern for all the areas involved, including the ability to notice minute inconsistencies/faults in parts, equipment, or production processes to prevent faulty products leaving the facility.

At least one year related work experience is required with a valid driver's license (as required).
May be required to obtain class C driver’s license to drive a large box truck.
Demanding physical activity requiring above average agility and dexterity, including long periods of walking, standing, bending, moving heavy objects and ability to lift up to each sites maximum allowed weight limits.
Work is performed in an area with moderate risk or discomfort that may require special safety precautions, such as wearing protective clothing or gear.
May be required to pass Near Vision and/or Color Vision examinations.
