We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Specialist in our Budd Lake, NJ facility where we produce optical fiber and optical components. This position will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient shipment and receiving of our of delicate and highly technical products, including the associated documentation and information tracking in our systems. The usual schedule is Monday - Friday from around 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with overtime as needed for critical shipments. This is a direct hire position with full company benefits included in the compensation.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Shipping:
Ensure all outgoing shipments are shipped in a timely manner; notify appropriate persons if there are problems with shipments Process shipments using both internal and external computer software/hardware Prepare paperwork and fulfill all necessary requirements to make International Shipments Pack goods for shipment according to specs transportation methods and routes Compare identifying information and counts Weigh / measure items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records Maintain necessary files and documentation associated with outgoing shipments Perform the physical and administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipmentReceiving:
Ensure all orders are received in a timely manner; notify appropriate persons if there are problems with the orders Deliver packages to the person who ordered them Move product to stock locationsOther assignments as delegated by manager
Education & Experience
Experience working in a team atmosphere with ability to multitask Proficient in reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills 3+ years of stockroom/logistics experience preferred Experience with Oracle, FedEx shipment software, Excel and Microsoft Office suit is a plus Experience driving a forklift, nice to have Ability to occasionally lift to 50 poundsSkills
