Shipping And Receiving Supervisor
**Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to supervise our Shipping and Receiving department. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of daily operations, including loading/unloading, receiving, handling, inventory control, tracking, and reporting. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of shipments and inventory. **Responsibilities** + Track, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments as necessary. + Ensure all warehouse team members maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. + Work with team members to safely and securely load/unload shipments. + Coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments by LTL, truckload, or parcel service. + Evaluate and report on carrier performance. + Actively look for and report on cost-saving opportunities. + Review freight invoices for accuracy and approve. Resolve any discrepancies. + Process freight claims involving lost or damaged materials. + Generate all required shipping documentation, such as Packing Lists and Bill of Ladings. + Complete mileage reports for company trucks weekly. + Conduct monthly/annual inventory and maintain accurate inventory levels. + Engage with vendors, drivers, and team members with a positive attitude. + Provide additional backup support for shipping and receiving associates. + Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to unload and load trucks. + Lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds. + Attend required weekly/monthly meetings. + Work overtime as required. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Experience in shipping/receiving, material handling, and forklift operation. + Warehouse management and supervision skills. + Proficiency in logistics, inventory control, and customer service. + Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. + Ability to operate forklifts and use Microsoft Office. + Knowledge of freight management. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Forklift operating license. + Valid Driver’s License meeting insurance requirements. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Strong sense of time urgency. + Ability to work independently and within a team. + Capacity to handle stressful situations and problem-solving skills. + Professional etiquette and strong organizational skills. **Why Work Here?** Join a growing company with a positive culture and the opportunity to make a significant impact.
