Job Summary
This position is responsible for supervising the loaders and the execution of all shipping functions that are required to ensure customer fulfillment.
Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensures products are shipped accurately. Interfaces with other work streams in organization to ensure customer deadlines are met. Maintain the inventory control process of finished goods. Coordinate with vendor on the maintenance and repair of forklifts. Identify all orders based on order forms. Supervise/inspect the loading of trucks. Train and develop team members. Audits team for at-risk conditions or behaviors. Reports all accidents, injuries, and near misses to Manager, Shipping and Receiving and assures all documentation is completed. Tracks countermeasures. Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve safety, production, performance, quality, and standards of work. Assures proper PPE is used per facility requirements. Conveys and reinforces company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations. Clearly and regularly communicates with staff on performance, work schedule, and activities. Leads pre-shift meeting with employees. Lead the department effort to reduce waste using SQDC boards and corrective actions. Conduct annual performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and employee’s adherence to Standard Work and Job Instructions. Maintains time and attendance records for employees. Covers Shipping and Receiving Manager duties when out of the office.Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
Outstanding relationship skills and verbal/written communication skills are key to success in this position when dealing with salespeople, customer service, vendors, customers, and facility leadership. Ability to effectively motivate and lead employees. Complete understanding of shipping orders. Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations. Previous experience with ERP systems (such as SAP) is preferred. Outstanding verbal, written, interpersonal, problem solving, phone, and time management skills. Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word. Possesses a strong safety awareness attitude.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. 2- or 4-year degree preferred. Five (5) years shipping and receiving experience. Five (5) years personnel supervisor experience preferred.Equipment Used:
