**Job Title: Chemical Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chemical Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in chemical manufacturing processes and be able to operate various equipment and handle chemicals safely and efficiently. **Responsibilities** + Work from written procedures to process, purify, and chemically fabricate products and their compounds through a sequence of batch operations. + Operate equipment, including reactors, tanks, pumps, mixers, pH meters, level meters, flow meters, valves, and hoses used in the manufacture of said products. + Handle liquid and solid chemicals using pumps, scales, and flow meters. Weigh, measure, and check raw materials and finished product to ensure that batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities and that accurate inventory is maintained. + Perform product weighing, packaging, labeling, and boxing operations in accordance with SOPs. + Locate materials in the warehouse and transport to manufacturing areas using a forklift as needed. + Collect process samples and interface with laboratory personnel for analysis. + Maintain required log sheets including but not limited to batch tickets, packaging sheets, scrubber operation log, pH meter calibration, and equipment inspections. + Attend required HSE training including Hazardous Waste Management, emergency response, and Hazard Communication, and demonstrate an acceptable level of understanding of topics. + Package, mark, and label Hazardous Waste containers. + Operate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO, OHSA's standards. + Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in work area. + Communicate with shift leader regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issues. Actively participate in shift meetings to assist in work planning and continuous improvement. + Adhere to all corporate, plant, and safety policies/procedures. + Wear personal protective equipment as applicable. + Complete all assigned training including corporate, HSE, and Quality specific training. + Assist in training other chemical operators in operations, processes, and procedures as needed to ensure efficiencies, safety, and compliance. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of applicable experience; chemical manufacturing is highly preferred. + Experience with sulfide or cyanide gold reaction processes or other precious metals products. + Experience working in a clean-room environment. + Strong verbal and written communication skills; convey technical information effectively and concisely to engineering, sales, technicians, etc. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Forklift certification and Hazardous Waste Operations certification preferable. **Why Work Here?** Join a leading specialty chemicals company that provides innovative solutions across the electronics supply chain. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment and may need to operate a forklift and work in a clean-room environment. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Haven, Connecticut. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
