Job Summary: Primary responsibility is to coordinate the shipping of company product, prepare related documentation in an accurate and timely manner, with a focus on inventory accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Perform shipping duties including completion of reports, accurately verifying quantity and condition of materials.
+ Prepare product for shipment with accuracy of quantity, product, weight and charges.
+ Schedule transportation for product by acting as a company liaison with trucking firms.
+ Work directly with all departments on upcoming and forecasted shipments. Identify special circumstances such as credit holds or specific sales order instructions.
+ Maintain records of customer shipping instructions and provide data to Business Development Team.
+ Identify best shipping solutions for international, new and current client base. Ensure that all customs issues are addressed prior to shipping. Verify accuracy of domestic and/or international transportation documentation and shipping specifications.
+ Work directly with production personnel to verify product orders are complete prior to ship dates.
+ Work with our preferred freight broker to arrange deliveries and consolidate orders for cost efficiency.
+ Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
+ Provide freight cost quotes to internal customers, including tracking/tracing information.
+ Ensure inventory accuracy by cycle counting and prompt requisition.
+ Comply with Company policies and procedures.
+ Comply with safety programs, policies and guidelines to ensure clean, orderly and safe working conditions.
+ Complete training in Hazardous Waste Management.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of storeroom and related areas.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
+ Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and be able to present information in a clear and concise manner.
+ Experience with International and domestic shipping documentation, such as USMCA, air and ocean paperwork, packing list, and Certificate of Origin.
+ Prior knowledge of US Export Controls, AES, Foreign Trade Regulations, Standard practices for handling international shipments, HTS, Import Customs and Logistics.
+ Knowledge of modern warehouse procedures.
+ Proven experience with invoices, packing slips, bills of lading, freight tags, and the use and meaning of each; computerized warehouse record keeping systems.
+ Basic level of MS Office knowledge and MS Excel preferred.
Credentials and Experience
+ High School Diploma preferred.
+ Minimum 2 years of experience working in a material warehouse or storage operation in shipping role.
+ Minimum 2 years verifiable forklift experience. Must be able to attain forklift certification through Hexagon Lincoln.
+ Valid Nebraska Driver’s License with good driving record required in order to operate company vehicles.
Other Skills/Abilities or Special Requirements
+ Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis, up to 120 lbs. on an occasional basis [team lift available].
+ Ability to sit, stand, bend, climb or walk for up to 8 hours or more per day.
+ Ability to work with both hands and both feet on a regular basis.
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment with a strong sense of urgency.
+ Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work in a team environment and work independently.
+ Basic understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
+ Flexibility to work Saturday and Sunday if needed.
+ On call availability for special shipments.
