Shipping Clerk-Night Shift

Summary

The Shipping Clerk  accurately updates and maintains finished production location system in inventories and SAP, analyze the output and investigate all major shrink or swells in production/inventory, submit all correctly finished paperwork along with copies of any receiving’s, and accurate bin reconciliations.  Assist production office through daily communication with supply planners regarding orders and scheduling issues.  Track and analyze daily order fill rate and distressed product. Provides office support by ensuring a continuous flow of on-time order completion, monitoring inventories, and verifying order specifications.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Answer all incoming calls for the shipping department. Communicate with other departments what they need i.e. boxes, trays, etc. and to scheduling and loading status or orders/trucks etc. Communicate to the supply planner’s product availabilities as needed. Input all UPC for the frozen loads. Daily data entry into the SAP computer system. Perform inventory checks with SAP and provide accounting with the corresponding paperwork. Make sure all paperwork is filled out properly for the department, i.e. USDA paperwork, QA paperwork, Accounting paper work, etc. Verify all information, weights, and loads match. Make sure all cooler input is correct and matches up. Train new associates for back-up and retrain current staff on an as needed basis for the shipping clerk position. Help in other areas i.e. dock, cooler 4, etc. as needed. Minimum Education

High School or equivalent

Experience Requirements

0 to 2 years. Knowledge of standard software applications, such as Microsoft Office. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Experience Preferred

Computer experience required.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP helpful. 

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements Work environment includes, but is not limited to, a normal office environment as well as climate extremes found in poultry processing operation. Required to move throughout the plant.   Temperatures range from 0 degrees Fahrenheit to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with average light intensity of 63 foot candles.  Noise level is normally less than 80db.  Most tasks are performed while in a stationary position at a desk or table ranging in height from 26’’ to 30’’ for up to 3 hours in a single interval.  When filing or retrieving files, requires bending up to 50 degrees, some stopping, reaching up to 5 feet and outward 1 to 2 feet, and lifting up to 90 pounds.  Must wear and or use protective and safety equipment required for the job and various locations.  Exposure to all chemicals found in a poultry processing operation.  Required to travel to remote facilities and/or corporate offices for meetings.
