Summary: This position requires someone to work as part of a small cross-functional team member within the Logistics Department. It is an extremely fast-paced environment that will challenge your ability to perform multiple tasks that require your problem-solving, organizational, time management, and communication skills. Employees have to be innovative in their thinking and be willing to professionally challenge the standard processes looking for gaps that can be improved upon.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)
Responsible for all site administrative shipping and processes of 20,000 order(s), based on date that is designated in JD Edwards. Accurately perform all administrative shipping for 5 departments within the Ogden Site.
Manage 20,000 appointments yearly by utilizing the internet-based system(s); along with manually updating appointment(s) based on carrier updates via e-mail or telephone.
Communicates with carrier(s) and CMP loading professionals of all en-route, current arrivals, or cancellations. Also ensuring any problem(s) that may arise have been resolved to avoid delays of shipment.
Provides assistance in helping driver(s) read the weight from scales to ensure that shipment(s) meet state requirements.
Adjusts final billing of loaded order(s) according to change(s) in original order using the software accounting system. Distributes documentation, including storage of all original documentation, as well as customs documentation.
Checks work for accuracy through the review and generating of reports by using spreadsheets and JD Edwards.
Communicates and follows up on discrepancies with carriers and customers. Also, communicates with corporate customer service to ensure shipping-related problems are resolved.
Cross-trained in 4 positions in the logistics department, one of which requires dual training of both days and nights; allowing coverage in the department as needed.
Performs 6S skills taught throughout the site, upkeeps organization, and files all paperwork utilized for trucks and rail cars loaded daily.
Manages incoming and outgoing phone calls for multiple situations with various individuals seeking assistance such as directions, appointments, order issues, etc.
Willingness and ability to work assigned shifts (ranging from an 8-hour shift spanning 7 A.M. to 11:00 P.M. Monday thru Friday, and rotating ½ day shifts on Sunday mornings).
Performs other clerical-related tasks as required.
