Shipping Coordinator

Position: Shipping Coordinator

Location: Thorold, ON

Reports To:  Plant Manager

SCOPE OF POSITION

The incumbent will provide support for the plant through effective and cost efficient coordination of fleets to shipping locations and customers.  This includes ensuring business unit obligations for timely delivery. The Shipping Coordinator will identify movement delays and act appropriately to ensure product is delivered to customers in a timely manner, or that customers are notified of pending delays. Provides administrative, clerical, and receptionist support for the Plant.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitors supplier and fleet activities to ensure timely deliveries. Review all Bills Of Lading, certificate of analysis and other paper work that pertains to the load for delivery. Communicate delays, service issues or revised customer ETA’s to Product Coordinators and CSR’s. Coordinates with production staff to ensure product availability meets customer requests. Filing and preparing shipping documents. Must be able to maintain a very organized filing system. Daily communication with internal and external customer services Imputing data using SAP and Microsoft Office Greets visitors, manages visitor log, and administers visitor plant safety entry orientation.

 

REQUIREMENTS

High School or GED equivalent. 1-3 years administration or office coordination experience Relevant experience with working knowledge of logistics and transportation is an asset. Ability to multitask and prioritize is essential. Demonstrable strong analytical and problem solving skills. The candidate must be a self-starter who can demonstrate a high level of energy and urgency. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP. Strong oral and written communication skills Good interpersonal skills; strong team player; Professional telephone etiquette.
