Job Description
The Shipping Manager will oversee all aspects of the shipping process at manufacturing facility, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers. This role involves managing the shipping team, coordinating with other departments, and optimizing shipping procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
ResponsibilitiesManage and supervise the shipping department, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff.Coordinate with production, inventory, and sales teams to ensure timely and accurate shipments.Develop and implement shipping policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.Oversee the preparation and processing of shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices.Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.Monitor and manage shipping budgets, including negotiating rates with carriers and vendors.Track and report on shipping performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.Resolve any shipping-related issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.Maintain a safe and organized shipping area.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years of experience in shipping or logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Strong knowledge of shipping regulations and procedures.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Strong leadership and team management abilities.Proficient in shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).Why Work Here?
