We have an immediate opportunity for a Shipping Operator to join us at our diverse team in Louisville, KY. The Shipping Operator will perform a wide range of procedures following standard instructions to complete shipping papers, pack, label, address, and load on appropriately selected method of shipping.
Job Responsibilities Complete shipping papers correctly, including export documents and ensure correct data in ERP system (Axapta). Recognize unusual conditions and report to appropriate Supervisor and/or Lead. Schedule trucks Operate forklift, load trucks for best methods of shipment, including flatbeds. Also, must become certified in crane operation. Become cross trained to perform many types of tasks. May be required to perform other duties as required by Manager. Implement/maintain a visual management board Create/update SOPs to drive the most efficient processes Print Bill of Ladings Invoice products and make ‘end of day list with tracking information’ Monitor for delays and contact Sales when necessary. Must practice excellent housekeeping skills and maintain equipment. Adhere to all Safety procedures. Implement 5S. The ideal candidate possesses these skills:
U.S. work authorization High School Diploma or GED. Three or more years of relevant experience. Good verbal and written communication skills. Basic math skills. Proficiency with computer inquiries and transactions. Work well in teams. Must be able to climb, bend, reach, and lift up to 50lbs. Must be proficient in using an SAP/ERP system. Ability to self-start and perform with minimal supervision Ability to multi-task Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees in the organization.
