POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the preparation of shipping documents and other required paperwork to move shipments from the warehouse.  Performs inventory control functions using multiple reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Completes order maintenance generating invoices for all work assignmentsFiles various paperwork as requiredPrepares bills of lading for shipments to customers and verifies BOL's with actual load sheetVerifies packing slip and related papers with orders receivedProvide POD's for customers and customer service for lost or delayed shipmentWorks with Corporate customer service to release orders with internal data entry problems that need to be expedited or are past dueMonitors and helps expedite past due orders using the Down in Shipping ReportObtain dimensions and documents for export shipments.  Generates export documents when necessaryOutbound administrator prints, separates, and prepares sales orders for the floor lead personsIssues paperwork for materials returnedOutbound administrator helps maintain inventory accuracy and MRP requirements by monitoring and correcting over allocated items using Over Allocation Report, Location - Order Number Report, and Shipping Transaction Edit ReportWork with other departments or plants to have items sent to warehouse to fill customer ordersContacts trucking firms for rate quotes and pick-ups for expedited orders for the entire outbound operationReports shortages or overages to appropriate resourcesWorks with customer and trucking firms to trace lost shipmentsWorks directly with Transportation Coordinators   Files damage claims with trucking companies for paymentCleans immediate work areaPerforms all other functions as required by supervisor

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required

MANAGEMENT:

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

Proficient math skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
