**Shipping and Receiving Clerk**
**Location:** Poestenkill
**Department:** Logistics/Warehouse
**Reports To:** Warehouse Manager
**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the receipt and shipment of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all processes. This role is crucial in maintaining inventory levels and supporting the overall supply chain operations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Receiving Shipments:**
+ Inspect incoming shipments for damage and verify contents against packing lists or invoices.
+ Record and report discrepancies or damaged items to the appropriate parties.
+ Assist in unloading trucks and storing items in designated areas.
+ **Shipping Orders:**
+ Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.
+ Generate shipping labels and documentation as required.
+ Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
+ **Inventory Management:**
+ Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems.
+ Perform regular stock counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies.
+ Organize and maintain the shipping and receiving area for efficiency and safety.
+ **Documentation:**
+ Maintain records of all shipments and receipts, ensuring compliance with company policies.
+ Assist in preparing reports related to shipping and receiving activities.
+ **Collaboration:**
+ Work closely with other departments, including purchasing and customer service, to ensure smooth operations.
+ Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
**Qualifications:**
+ Previous experience in shipping and receiving, warehousing, or inventory management preferred.
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification may be required).
+ Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 40lbs) and perform physical tasks.
+ Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
**Work Environment:**
+ Fast-paced warehouse setting with potential exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
