Shipping/Receiving Clerk

Amentum is currently searching for a qualified Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support work at our FRC ASE San Diego, CA location.
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk prepares finished products for shipment or storage by placing them in shipping containers. The specific operations performed being dependent upon the type. The individual will have knowledge of various items of stock in order to verify content, selection of appropriate type and size of container, inserting enclosures in container, using excelsior or other material to prevent breakage or damage, closing and sealing container, and applying labels or entering identifying data on container. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk performs a range of supply duties to include but not limited to, receiving, material handling, warehousing, and issuing of all types of repair parts and materials.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material as per regulations and appropriate procedures. Maintaining files of documents used and prepared and stores appropriately in accordance with retention period and directives.
+ Load material on and off skids, pallets, stands.
+ Load material on and off various types of delivery trucks.
+ Ability to prepare, generate basic shipping documents and prepare required reports.
+ Track and log each shipment in and out of facility with pertinent tracking accordingly.
+ Count, weigh, record data, apply tags and labels.
+ Coordinates with Production, various shops and customers internal and external to ensure shipping/receiving is managed properly.
+ Delivers incoming parts, components and items to individual shops as needed.
+ Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
**Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:**
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizational skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Must be a High School graduate or equivalent.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen.
+ Previous experience with performing Shipping/Receiving job functions.
+ Must have a valid driver's license.
+ Pre-employment drug screening is required.
+ May be required to pass a U.S. Government background security check.
+ Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
+ Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security/SCI Security Clearance.
+ Be proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
+ Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
+ Ability to accurately type and use computers to analyze, organize, store, retrieve, and manipulate data, and report the results of those operations.
+ Ability and competence to acquire and maintain a valid Forklift License.
+ Must be able to pass 80-Hour DoD Preparation of Hazardous Materials for Transportation (Initial) certifier course OR provide proof of previous completion and certificate is still valid.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Strong problem-solving skills.
+ Good verbal communication skills.
+ Basic knowledge of maintenance repairs on a variety of equipment.
+ Knowledge of Continuous Process Improvement.
+ Time management and prioritization skills.
+ Strong Telephone etiquette.
