Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of Falls Manufacturing. This role involves various tasks to ensure that inventory is accurately tracked, shipments are properly handled, and goods are safely delivered or received. Below are key duties and skills typically associated with the position: Primary Responsibilities: Receiving Shipments: + Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and condition. + Verify shipments against purchase orders or packing lists. + Record items received and update inventory systems. + Handle any discrepancies, such as missing or damaged goods. Shipping Orders: + Prepare outgoing orders for shipment, ensuring they are adequately packaged and labeled. + Coordinate with carriers for timely pickups. + Maintain shipping records, including tracking numbers and delivery confirmations. Inventory Management: + Maintain accurate inventory levels by regularly counting items. + Organize and store goods in appropriate locations within the warehouse. + Track inventory movement and report any shortages or excesses. Documentation and Recordkeeping: + Keep detailed records of incoming and outgoing shipments. + Ensure that all necessary documentation, such as invoices, packing slips, and bills of lading, are complete and accurate. Customer Service: + Address customer inquiries related to shipping or receiving issues. + Resolve any shipment-related problems, such as delays or damage. Safety and Compliance: + Follow safety protocols to ensure the safe handling of materials and equipment. + Adhere to company policies, including shipping and receiving procedures. Key Skills: + Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy when checking shipments, recording inventory, and preparing orders. + Organization: Efficiently managing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse. + Communication Skills: Working with internal teams, customers, and suppliers. + Basic Computer Skills: Using inventory management systems, databases, and tracking software. + Physical Stamina: Handling and moving products, often requiring lifting or operating equipment like forklifts. + Problem-solving: Addressing issues related to discrepancies, damaged goods, or delivery delays. Education and Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may require additional warehouse management or logistics training or certifications. + Experience with inventory management systems or shipping software may be preferred. + A Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring that inventory flows smoothly, ensuring businesses can meet customer demands and maintain efficient operations.Top of Form Work Environment: The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.
