The Shipping and Receiving Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the procedures and operations of the warehouse. This position directly impacts organization performance through the management and inspection of warehouse productivity and efficiency.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will play a pivotal role in the creation, execution, management and delivery of best-in-class warehouse services; all of which will lead to an enhanced customer delivery experience.Strategically manage shipping and receiving in compliance with the company’s policies and vision.Manage and have oversight to all personnel in shipping and receiving department.Plan work schedules and assign tasks appropriately and appraise results.Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization.Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.Ensure products are examined to verify conformance to quality standards.Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.Ensure compliance to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislative requirements.Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies.Maintain reporting tools and mechanisms that effectively communicate warehouse KPIs including inventory control, labor utilization, transactional accuracy and fulfillment.Product reports and statistics regularly (In/Out status report, dead stock report, etc.).Maintain data analysis tools/techniques to effectively determine the root cause of inventory discrepancies, service failures, and inefficiencies to quantify and report all warehouse metrics and KPI’s.Expected to travel 10% to visit facilities, customers, vendors and suppliers.Perform additional projects, duties or assignments as directed by senior management. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPENTENCIES:

College degree preferred or relevant experience required. 5 + years warehouse supervisory experience.Experience in warehouse management procedures and best practices.Ability to manage, direct, and motivate teams.Ability to use strong decision making and problem-solving skills, logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solution, conclusions, or approaches to problems.Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), and leadership skills required to effectively communicate initiatives and drive key business initiatives through the leadership team, non-exempt populations, and cross functional teams.The ability to adapt, learn and become proficient in multiple systems quickly.Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and the ability to drive results.Proficient in the use of basic statistics, other analytical tools and Microsoft Office suite.Highly organized and detail-oriented with good time management skills.Ability to operate on tight deadlines with multiple priorities that are subject to frequent change.Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Valid driver’s license.Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
