Shipping / Receiving Associate

Verifies and maintains records on incoming and outgoing shipments; prepares items for shipment, and receives raw materials and other items.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Observe all safety rules and wear appropriate PPE.  Report all safety incidents, unsafe acts and conditions Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against shipping documentation Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers; insert items into containers and secure on skids Posts weights and shipping charges; completes and files required shipping documentation; ensures that all documentation is distributed to the appropriate departments Inputs required information into the computerized inventory system Verify received materials; delivers items to various departments Maintains inventory of shipping & receiving supplies Responsible for data in SAP Other related duties as assigned

 

Skills/Knowledge Required:

Written and verbal communication skills Record Keeping Skills are very important Good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment Demonstrated knowledge of computer software, using Microsoft Office & Glovia Must be able to accurately communicate through the email system and manage your email in a professional and business-like manner. Must be detail-oriented  and able to work under pressure in a demanding fast paced environment

 

Experience Guidelines:

Minimum of one year experience in a shipping and or receiving environment is preferred. Accurate data entry skills are required in Microsoft office and SAP

 

Education Guidelines:

High School Diploma or GED DOT/IATA/IMO training will be required for shipping and receiving of hazardous material. Training will be provided.
