Job Description: The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all shipping operations, ensuring the timely and efficient handling of orders, coordinating freight, and managing shipping personnel. This role requires strong leadership to maintain communication with internal teams, external partners, and freight carriers, as well as ensuring compliance with shipping standards.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate all shipping activities, including managing shipping staff and operations. Liaise between headquarters, distribution centers, and external partners for order status and support inquiries. Monitor warehouse practices to ensure proper use of carriers and shipping methods. Oversee scheduling of third-party shipments and ensure timely pickup and invoicing. Manage shipping and invoicing for all Amazon orders, ensuring proper documentation and closure. Work with warehouse managers to ensure on-time order shipments. Provide updates and details to customers and reps when orders are ready for pickup. Manage and resolve freight claims, order shortages, and damages within 180 days. Handle the quoting, booking, and management of dedicated partial/TL orders. Review and approve freight invoices, resolving pricing discrepancies and disputing unwarranted charges. Maintain strong relationships with freight carriers, monitoring pricing changes and service issues. Supervise the RGA process, ensuring accurate returns and credits. Implement improvements in shipping procedures and collaborate with other departments to optimize logistics.Qualifications:
Proven experience in shipping or logistics supervision. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team. Knowledge of freight coordination, third-party shipments, and shipping methods. Experience with Amazon order processes and freight claims. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.#M1
