As a Shipping Supervisor at our Grand Rapids, MI facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of our shipping processes. Your leadership and meticulous attention to detail will directly contribute to our operational success and safety standards. We are seeking a team-oriented individual with a proactive attitude who will excel in this role. You will be leading the shipping team on the second shift, working 2:00 pm—11:00 pm with every other weekend off. You must be flexible with overtime covering the first shift as needed.
This role provides a great opportunity to lead our logistics team and be a key decision maker, as well as influence and build the capabilities of your team members.
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
Shipping Support- Lead all activities during your assigned shift, focusing on achieving shipping goals, managing material changes, and adhering to schedules. Guide operators in executing logistics plans, including receiving, line supply, and packaging, while overseeing the Receiving Operations department. Continuous Improvement- Identify and implement process improvements using tools such as 5S, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and LEAN methodologies to eliminate costs and waste. Best Practices Compliance- Assist in developing and maintaining best practices for shipping and receiving operations in accordance with FDA guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis, Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Safety Quality Food (SQF) program guidelines. Leadership and Direction- Provide clear direction and support to your team of operators, demonstrating strong people management skills. Safety Focus- Uphold our core values by prioritizing People Safety and Food Safety in all operations.
We’re Looking for Someone With
High School Diploma or GED with substantial related proven leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting. A strong ability to work effectively with people cross-functionally and at all levels of an organization. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing requests Must be available to work weekends as needed
Compensation
The annual salary range is $70,080 - $91,980, which is based on various factors such as location, experience and skill. Discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance are also available.
