Position Summary:
The Translational Science Shipping Technician will be responsible for all tasks associated with the timely execution of all outbound Clinical Trial Kit Department shipments. . The scope of responsibility includes ensuring that all documents and airway bills accurately reflect the contents of the kit shipment and that all associated documents are in compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also has responsibility for organizing the logistics with the designated carrier, ensuring that all shipments are ready for pick up when the carrier arrives.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
Operate all courier systems to prepare package address labels, invoices, and other associated documentation correctly, professional and in a timely manner. Maintain all shipping machines address databanks and verifying the information utilizing INFOR. QC all shipping documentation prior to shipping; check shipments against manifest. Monitor inventory level of shipping supplies and notifying team lead/manager when minimum operating levels have been met. Ensure that all paperwork generated by photocopying is done in a quality manner to provide a professional appearance. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Track all shipments to delivery at destination, escalating shipment that have encountered delays or customs hold. Update necessary documents with tracking numbers for records, while ensuring all final commercial invoices, airway bill copies are filed and stored in designated areas. Aid with other department tasks including but not limited to providing rates, providing KPI metrics, tracking shipments, etc. Communicate with couriers and internal customers effectively. Coordinate with other team leaders and participate in process improvement activities. Identify and escalate risks/issues promptly and seek mitigation guidance. Aid in investigation of new and emerging processes for the processing and handling customs documentation. Any additional assignment or task assigned by the Logistics Manager.
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
High school diploma or educational equivalent, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 1-2 years of experience in Global Logistics and Shipping, including temperature-controlled shipping. Experience in shipping, receiving, and warehousing procedures preferred.Other Requirements:
Good communication and problem solving skills. Detail-oriented, thorough, and well-organized Basic computer skills. Ability to grasp general concepts of import/expeort regulations Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.Preferred:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs, with frequent bending, stooping, and reaching Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers Familiarity with courier online tools. Knowledge of GxP or CAP/CLIA/ISO standards and IATA training. Background in a laboratory setting with Clinical Trial regulatory guidelines (cGMP, cGLP, ISO) and SOPs. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and people management skills. Advanced proficiency in MS Office products (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
