GENERAL SUMMARY: 

This position supports the Planning and Quality departments through the preparation and distribution of shipping documents for hardware as required by customer PO and specification. This position maintains all part specific documents associated with hardware in process of manufacturing, outside processing, and testing. This position generates shipping documents utilizing various computer software programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Generates shipping documents for outgoing hardwareMaintains and files part specific documents related to WIP as well as outside testing documentsMaintains outside testing database and serves as focal point for communication with outside testing suppliersAssists in shipping and source package preparation to customer source personnel for end item hardware and OSP shipmentsUsing various computer programs, generates shipping documents and records for hardware (i.e. barcode and specific customer web site documents)General Receiving of finished goods and OSP servicesAssists management in cost improvement projects associated with focus areaComplete, check, understand, and verify that all necessary paperwork is correct and completeVerify that contents of all deliveries and shipments are complete per shipping and inspection documents, and are delivered to proper departmentsMark identifications on all parts per work instructions; Ink, Electro Etch, Vibropeen, or Bag & TagPackage castings per customer requirements, to prevent damage. Use appropriate packaging materials, and determine best packing methods.Pull, ship and store all testing materials at essential timesStage and warehouse orders awaiting shipment; organize shipping area; operate forklift to move partsNotify carriers for shipping pickups; arrange for rush shipments and special shipping arrangements when neededShip parts to vendors as requested; mail items via UPS/FEDX as requested, completing all necessary paperworkLoad and unload trailers; stock materials and supplies for shipping and marking partsPerforms other related duties as assigned by managementExpectation is position achieves Quality Technician (Source Inspection) requirements within 2-3 years.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent, and an AA degree in Computer Science; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to read reports and use computer. Ability to communicate ,with co-workers and customers . Ability to write, type, use telephone system, and operate office machines. Ability to climb stairs, stoop and reach to access department materials. Ability to exert up to thirty five pounds of force to move objects.
