**Description** **Tradesmen International** is immediately hiring skilled **Shipyard Estimators** for projects located in and around the **Alameda, CA area.** This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of **$35-45/hour** based on experience & skill level. If you are a Shipyard Estimator and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career! **Job Scope:** + Work with account manager and/or customer to define a detailed scope of work + Sow, cost, estimate, & proposal for projects + Develop contracts in accordance with BSY procedures + Ensure that sow is accurately developed through ship checks, technical research, and/or internal resources + Prepare a detailed & accurate estimate of costs including labor materials, subcontracted personnel and services, etc. + Attend ship checks, onboard vessels, and/or mandatory bidders conference + Develop technical proposals that include technical requirements past performance and schedule requirements as needed + Ensure documents submitted to customers are accurate and complete, well written, & consistent with customer specific pricing & credit rating + Assist the account manager with negotiating & finalizing contracts + Other tasks as assigned **Requirements** + Must have shipyard experience + B.S Degree in Engineering or Similar Discipline or Equivalent Work Experience + 3+ Years of Practical Experience in a Related Field + Must Pass a Drug Screen + OSHA 10 Maritime + Solid Understanding of Lean Principles & Continuous Improvement Processes + Proven Experience in Building Relationships with Cross-functional Teams & Ability to Adapt to Different Environments + Project Management Experience is a Plus + Excellent Verbal Communication Skills + Strong Writing & Presentation Skills + Problem Solving Skills **Company Details** Tradesmen International not only offers consistent work, top pay, and employment opportunities, we also provide a benefits package that is among the best in the industry.
