**Shipyard Mechanic** **Day Shift 5am-3:30pm Mon-Sat** **$19/hr-$22/hr** **Job Description** Mechanics supporting the Boiler Project will be responsible for disassembling, refurbishing, and re-installing equipment. The role requires the use of hand tools and performing general labor duties as needed. **Responsibilities** + Disassemble, refurbish, and re-install mechanical components for the Boiler Project. + Perform general labor duties frequently as required. + Utilize hand and power tools efficiently. + Apply Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures for safety. + Read and interpret technical drawings. + Use precise measuring equipment for accurate work. + Repair and rebuild valves. **Essential Skills** + Ability to use a tape measure accurately. + Proficient in using hand and power tools. + Familiarity with Lock-Out/Tag-Out safety procedures. + Experience with reading and interpreting technical drawings. + Proficiency in using precise measuring equipment. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Knowledge of valve repair and rebuild. + Experience in aircraft, marine, or structural mechanics. + Mechanical inclination and experience in shipyard or construction environments. + Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and stand for over 8-hour days. + Previous shipyard or construction experience is ideal but not mandatory. + Candidates should have no less than 1 year of tenure at their most recent jobs in a mechanical capacity. **Why Work Here?** All candidates are eligible to convert to a permanent employee after 90 days. The role involves working with NASCO, and requires strict adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camp Pendleton, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
