**Job Title: Shop Helper : Anoka, MN : $18 to $20 per hour** **Job Description** Employees will start out in grinding, where they will hold a hand grinder to smooth out rough edges and polish the metal to a nice finish. They will also cross-train into basic fabrication where they will cut metal to length utilizing a tape measure, including brake press, spot welding, buffing, and racking for paint. Additionally, they will help out in other departments as needed, such as assembly, packaging, and paint. **Responsibilities** + Smooth out rough edges and polish metal using a hand grinder. + Cross-train in basic fabrication, including cutting metal to length. + Operate brake press, perform spot welding, and buff metal. + Assist in racking metal for paint. + Support other departments such as assembly, packaging, and paint. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical aptitude through previous work experience, school, or hobbies. + Experience with sheet metal and grinding. + Ability to read and measure using a tape measure and understand basic math. + Experience working with hand and power tools, welding, and fabrication. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 6 months of manufacturing experience. + Experience reading a tape measure. + Hand and power tool experience. + Shop classes such as welding, automotive, woodworking, or machine/tool. **Why Work Here?** We offer tuition reimbursement, opportunities for upward mobility (promotions to lead, supervisor, etc.), a $0.50 raise after 90 days, an additional raise once hired direct, and the opportunity to certify at Anoka Tech for welding. **Work Environment** The work takes place in a large manufacturing facility.
