**Job Title: Shop Helper** **Job Description** As a Shop Helper, you will work side by side with another person, learning to operate the overhead crane and all its parts. This role includes training to take over the CNC burn table. The position requires operating various forklifts, overhead cranes, grinders, saw drills, and more. The job is physically demanding, involving lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and other physical activities, even when the tasks are not heavy. **Work Environment** The company is a Swedish steel manufacturer of high-strength wear and structural steel. There are approximately 24 employees at this location, with 14 in the shop and 10 in the office. The primary shift is Monday - Friday from 7am - 3:30pm, with additional shifts available. The environment is an enclosed space, noisy with sparks, and requires adherence to safety regulations. The dress code includes provided hard hats, blue overalls, and safety glasses, with metatarsal covers supplied by the employer. Candidates must provide their own steel-toe work boots (STWB). **Responsibilities** + Operate 3 different kinds of forklifts (3 different sizes, SDCB COMBI lift), overhead crane, grinder, saw drills, etc. + Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, often using machines to assist. + Perform physical activities such as bending, lifting, and crouching. + Label and wrap skids. + Grind materials. + Load and unload trucks. + Move parts to the overhead crane. + Learn and operate the burn table. **Essential Skills** + 1 year of experience in a heavy industrial environment. + Experience with burn tables, including FICEP Plasma cut. + Fluent in English communication. + Ability to work with hand and power tools (grinding, brushing, manual tools, strapping). + Computer proficiency for inputting products, managing paper skews, overseeing shipping and receiving, and handling documentation. + Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Grinding experience is a plus. + Crane experience is a plus. + Attention to detail. + Willingness to learn all departments. + Great attendance record. + Team-first mindset. **Why Work Here?** This position offers long-term employment opportunities with the potential for permanent placement.
