**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Shop Helper to assist with various tasks in our manufacturing environment. This role involves lifting up to 50lbs, performing multiple tasks throughout the day such as cleaning parts, deburring, sandblasting, and painting. The Shop Helper will eventually learn how to mix paints and operate grinders and pallet jacks. This position requires general labor/shop helper knowledge and experience, with a willingness to learn forklift operation in the future. The working hours are from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday.
**Responsibilities**
+ Review all documents related to the job at hand.
+ Clean and prepare surfaces of articles to be painted or powder coated.
+ Understand and operate the cleaning station (Pressure Island).
+ Perform titration and maintain solutions in accordance with specifications.
+ Keep log records and follow work instructions and engineering drawings.
+ Monitor and ensure the quality of work.
+ Stack parts on a pallet without instruction.
+ Inspect work for conformance to quality requirements.
+ Complete production documentation and related paperwork.
+ Keep all work areas clean and organized.
+ Perform daily and weekly maintenance on all machines.
+ Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately.
+ Provide technical support or help team members under the supervision of a supervisor.
+ Commit to all safety policies and regulations at all times.
+ Maintain workstation to 5S standards.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by lead or supervisor.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with manufacturing, hand and power tools, and general labor.
+ General manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
+ Mechanically inclined.
+ Ability to stand for 8 hours at a time.
+ Ability to lift 35 lbs.
+ Ability to read and follow work orders, painting instructions, and engineering blueprints.
+ Proactive, reliable, and a team player.
+ Good organizational and communication skills.
+ Eye for detail.
+ Commitment to safety at all times.
+ Ability to work in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of diversity and inclusion.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ 1-3 years prior experience in paint preparation is preferred.
+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred.
+ Familiarity with sheet metal parts is preferred.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a manufacturing setting in Poway. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or protective gear is required daily, including wearing a respirator. The environment may occasionally be uncomfortable due to cold or heat, and the noise level is usually loud.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
